Our Commitment to Safety and Wellbeing
We are committed to providing a healthy and safe environment to protect our employees and our guests. In accordance with new Worksafe BC and Government guidelines, we are taking the following steps to ensure dishes that are delivered to your table are done so with the utmost care and respect.
While things may look a little different right now, our core values are the same and we want to celebrate delicious food and drinks, our local suppliers and partners, and you, our valued guests – in a safe and responsible manner. We look forward to welcoming you.
Guest Reservations and Protocol:
Reservations are strongly recommended. Guests arriving early for reservations may be asked to wait outside if tables are not ready, or in the case that the restaurant is at maximum occupancy. We kindly ask for your patience and cooperation during this process.
Guests without reservations may be accepted however, if we do not have a table available immediately, you will be asked to wait outside. Contact information must be collected from at least one person in the party and must be kept on file for at least 30 days.
Guests displaying COVID-19 symptoms will not be permitted to enter the premises and in the interests of keeping everyone safe and well, temperature checks with infrared, touchless thermometers will be required prior to entry.
Guests arrive through the main front entrance as usual, however you will now be required to exit the premises through the side ramp entrance. Floor markings are installed for guidance and to remind us all of physical distancing requirements.
Unfortunately coat check is not available at this time and guests will be asked to keep all personal belongings with them.
Hygiene + Cleaning Standards:
Our entire restaurant, including back-of-house, kitchen and staff areas, are thoroughly sanitized, deep cleaned and disinfected on a nightly basis.
High touch areas such as the Hostess Stand, Bar Area, Wine Stations and Service Stations are monitored and sanitized every 30 minutes.
Guest bathrooms are also checked and sanitized every 30 minutes and are equipped with disposable paper towels and floor markings to indicate appropriate physical distancing.
New menus are laminated and sanitized regularly.
All tables and chairs are wiped down between use (including table tops, edges, legs, chair seat and chair back) with high grade government approved disinfectant.
Our staff are required to wash hands every 30 minutes, to wear gloves during service and to wear protective face masks.
Handheld payment processors are used for credit and debit card payments, cash is not accepted at this time, machines are thoroughly wiped with disinfectant before being returned to charger stations and again before each use.
Approved hand sanitizer stations are available at the front door, by the bathrooms and throughout the restaurant for guests to use.
Prevention & Physical Distancing Measures:
Our staff are required to have temperature checks daily before each shift, with infrared, touchless thermometers and are committed to health declarations indicating they are symptom free and have not been in contact with others who are COVID-19 positive.
Our new occupancy levels have been determined by directives issued by Worksafe BC and the BC Provincial Government, which indicate 5 square meters per person inside the restaurant. The maximum number of guests to be seated in one party is 6.
Tables in the dining room will be spaced a minimum of 2 meters apart in all directions, at this time bar stools have been removed and guests are not allowed to stand at the bar, however high-top tables appropriately spaced in the bar area will be available.
Plastic shields and plexiglass dividers have been installed around the open kitchen and between banquettes on the upper level.
Floor markers have been applied to assist in the flow of foot traffic and ensure appropriate physical distancing requirements are maintained.
While our restaurant is temporality closed in order to protect the health of our staff and guests and to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus, we are offering a limited take-out menu featuring classic farm-fresh Nightingale dishes, to keep you nurtured and a nourished during these difficult times.
We also welcome gift card purchases and are gratefully accepting donations to support our team who are unable to work during the closure.
